“It is not a simple endeavor to briefly tell the story of an institution with more than seven centuries of history. However, the authors Rosa Marisa Borraccini and Luigiaurelio Pomante have done so brilliantly. Histories are usually written after extensive research has been conducted. This book intends to provide a brief description based on few words and many pictures of the life of the University of Macerata from its ancient origins to the multifaceted reality of the present. Rosa Marisa Borraccini has been prorector since 2010 and will soon celebrate the 50^th anniversary of earning her degree. She has dedicate these years selflessly to the University of Macerata. Both she and Luigiaurelio Pomante, a young researcher whose interests focus on the history of the University, committed themselves to this project with a sharp and keen eye. This work is symbolic of the uninterrupted passing of the torch from one generation of professors to the next, all of whom  feel a strong commitment to the University and celebrate its value.
