After approval of the publication proposal by the bodies, positive evaluation by the referees and conclusion of the contract, the editorial production phase begins.
The submitted materials undergo professional layout, then text and image editing, proofreading, graphic design of cages and covers. At this stage, persistent publication identifiers are also assigned: the ISBN - International Standard Book Number - to books, the ISSN - International Standard Serial Number - to periodicals and series, and finally the DOI - Document Object Identifier - for books and articles in digital format.
There are two months between the availability of the final texts approved by the reviewers and the final version of the layout files (both for the printed and digital versions), detailed as follows: two weeks for the delivery of the first draft; one week for the second; one week for the finalisation of the interior file and the production of the cover. And the same timeframe is proposed to the authors/curators who thus have two weeks to correct the first draft, one week to correct the second and one week to approve the interior and cover and thus authorise the publication in print and/or online.
Once the authorisation is registered, it takes one week to publish the news on the eum website (then make the title card, with or without a digital version of the text) and at least three weeks to have the printed copies in stock.
