"Books UP! Books of the University Press" is the fair dedicated to university publishing born within the framework of the Macerata Humanities Festival.

Organised in partnership with the ‘Giacomo Leopardi’ School of Advanced Studies, Books UP! involves the academic community, the Doctoral School, the ‘Macerata Racconta’ festival, high schools and bookshops in Macerata.

‘The University Publishing Fair,’ says EUM President Simona Antolini, "stems from the desire to deepen the dialogue between the different Italian University Presses and to create a meeting space for the academic community with civil society. Books UP! (‘The books of the University Presses’ but also ‘Books up!’) puts books, which are not just publishing products, but real windows on the world, centre stage. Our watchwords are “dissemination of research”, “high popularisation of science”, “dissemination of knowledge”, for the construction of a free and democratic community, capable of critically assessing reality, able to make informed choices. University Publishing is a bridge with the new generations, in whom it wants to instil a thirst for knowledge, form a critical spirit, and nurture generosity in sharing knowledge'.
