Proposal submission

The adoption of an editorial brand allows the scientific production of the University to be distinguished over time, facilitates its dissemination, and ensures its quality. It also allows the University to retain ownership of the copyright for scientific publications, as well as the ownership of the series in which the works will be published. Whether authors choose to retain their rights or decide to transfer them to EUM, and thus to the University of Macerata, they will always retain the possibility to freely use and reuse their materials for educational and scientific purposes.

EUM provides the editorial version of contributions or monographs for ANVUR evaluation and allows authors to deposit a pre-print on their personal website, in an institutional repository, or in a disciplinary pre-print archive, as this practice is not considered as a prior or duplicate publication.

A distinctive feature of EUM is the diversification of its products: the material submitted can be published, at the explicit request of the author, either in traditional print form or in electronic version (.pdf, .epub, .mobi formats), in open access under Creative Commons licenses or protected by paid copyright.

EUM publishes monographs, textbooks, manuals, journals, and scientific databases. Before submitting a proposal, authors can browse the series lists for more information on the editorial goals of EUM.

The author/editor must fill out the application form available on the section Application form which, in addition to the table of contents and the synopsis, must include the complete text of the work, information on the typical reader, the target market, books with a similar theme (if any) and the possibility of adopting the publication in a study course. Any sources of funding to support the publishing project should also be indicated.

The Editorial Committee evaluates the publication proposal, which, if in line with EUM's policy, is submitted to double-blind peer review. Once the peer review process is completed successfully, the proposal is examined by the Board of Directors for the final approval.
