Landscape architecture, which is becoming increasingly topical, involves a wide spectrum of scholars and experts who do not always succeed in engaging in a field characterized by the need for a shared and common commitment where different yet deeply synergistic competences are essential. And yet only a union of experts from a range of intellectual and professional backgrounds makes it possible to identify the strengths that can enhance and safeguard the rich heritage of the Marche region. This is the inspiration for this book, which opens an initial dialogue heralding promising developments and stimulating reflection - even by students who will soon become responsible and professional citizens.

About Monica Ugolini
Monica Ugolini is an associate professor of Geography/Didactics of Geography and Social Geography at the Carlo Bo University of Urbino (Department of Humanities). She has published widely on various aspects of geography, from regional to the medical and social geography. In particular, her work focuses on agricultural landscapes and on issues relating to identity, demographic mobility and the enhancement of tangible and intangible cultural heritage. Her studies aim to promote functionally decentralized yet valuable regions, in accordance with the purposes and framework of the EU project on the recovery and enhancement of inland areas.
