CARISSIMI PRIMO, ANNE ED ELIE

This volume launches the “Strumenti per la didattica” line in the “Il tempo, la storia e la memoria” series and brings together contributions by the two eminent scholars of the Shoah who worked together on two courses entitled The History and Teaching of the Shoah offered by the University of Macerata in October 2013 and 2014. The courses were organised by the University Network for the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The volume also includes an essay written by the Israeli writer Judith Katzir. The studies cover topics ranging from history to philosophy, from literature to art, all the way to educational experience and the discovery of several commemoration sites in the Marche region. The intent is to provide schools with the appropriate educational tools needed to transmit to the younger generations thoughtful and in-depth knowledge of the genocide perpetrated by the Nazi and Fascist regimes. It also seeks to instill the fundamental values of remembering, responsibility and freedom.

About Clara Ferranti
Clara Ferranti is a researcher of Glottology and Linguistics at the Department of Humanities at the University of Macerata, where she teaches General Linguistics and Articulatory Phonetics in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree courses. Her scientific interests and publications focus mainly on the English language spoken in Ireland, the history of linguistic thought, the theory of language, semantics, sociolinguistics and phonetics. Together with Paolo Coen, she directs the “Il tempo, la storia e la memoria” series. In 2013, she became the scientific and administrative director of the course entitled “The History and Teaching of the Shoah” organised by the University Network for the International Holocaust Remembrance Day for various Italian universities. She also collaborates with the work group of the Regional Council of the Marche region for the coordination and promotion of the initiatives organised for the Holocaust Remembrance Day.
