This book brings together seven essays written by different authors who share a common purpose: to use a thorough critical analysis and numerous bibliographical references to discover the ways and the forms in which Leopardi’s thoughts and poetics influenced the works of some of the major Italian authors of the 20th century (such as Dino Campana, Federigo Tozzi, Luigi Pirandello, Vincenzo Cardarelli, Eugenio Montale, Alberto Moravia, and Libero Bigiaretti). The reader is led on a journey of discovery through “Leopardi’s universe,” which lives and renews itself through 20th century prose and poetry in a dimension of permanent topicality.
